The Markstay-Warren Public Library has many services available to the public.\u00a0 A small overview of some of our services are below; if you have any questions regarding them, or are unsure if we provide a service not mentioned below please reach out to us and we will be happy to assist and clarify.<\/p>\n

Accessibility Options & Information<\/strong><\/p>\n

Accessible Collections with CELA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Markstay-Warren Public Library is proudly partnered with CELA (The Centre for Equitable Library Access). The Centre for Equitable Library Access is Canada\u2019s comprehensive accessible reading service, providing books and other materials to Canadians with print disabilities in the formats of their choice.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What Markstay-Warren Public Library Provides<\/strong><\/p>\n

Through this program, individuals can borrow audiobooks on CD from our collection, or order DAISY audiobooks from CELA. We also have several Victor Readers (A portable audiobook and music streaming device) available for our patrons to borrow.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

For those that need a larger font, large print books can be searched for in our collection through our catalogue or by requesting aid from staff. If a book is not available in large print, it can be obtained through interlibrary loan. We also have e-Readers for loan, which are equipped with features to assist with visibility such as brightness and font size.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All public computers have Windows Accessibility features available for use.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Homebound Services may be available on request.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Home-Library Delivery<\/strong><\/p>\n

Home-Library Delivery is a service we offer that allows patrons who are physically unable to come to the library a chance to enjoy what the library has to offer. By contacting staff through phone or e-mail with book requests, a designated staff will be chosen to come to your location to drop off books, movies, or equipment and will pick them back up on their respective due date.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Interlibrary Loan<\/strong><\/p>\n

What is an “Interlibrary Loan”?<\/strong><\/p>\n

An Interlibrary Loan (also known as an ILL) is a resource sharing service between libraries, in which one library can request material from another if it is not in their catalogue.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

How does it work?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are looking for a specific book but it isn’t in our catalogue you are welcome to place a request with us! Acting as an intermediary, we search for libraries with the book available and place requests. If accepted, the book is then sent to us to be lent out to you! These books have\u00a0strict\u00a0due dates and are non-renewable at current time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Along with computer use for our patrons, we provide printing, photocopy, and\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>lamination <\/strong>services.\u00a0\u00a0Please be advised that we do not have faxing as an available service.<\/strong><\/p>\n
